Summary

We are looking for a digital-savvy community manager to take control of our online voice and build brand awareness and loyalty. The community manager will align all company communications, PR, social media, and marketing content to create a strong brand identity. You will be the first point of contact for online fans and followers, thus developing an intimate relationship with the online community.

To succeed in this role, you must have a deep passion for social media, stay abreast of new developments and opportunities in the industry, and be a strategic thinker. You must also have an outgoing personality, as in-person networking will be part of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a content plan for the different community channels. 

  • Set, plan, and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies by creating engaging content for all platforms, including blog pieces, articles, social media posts, newsletters, and videos.

  • Engage with the online community by responding to comments and requests on time.

  • Set KPIs and analyze relevant community metrics.

  • Relay community feedback to relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Devise and implement community communication initiatives.

  • Liaise with other departments to stay updated on new marketing initiatives, product and service developments, and to ensure brand consistency.

  • Liaise with external agencies or journalists to ensure accurate brand representation.

  • Provide engaging text, image, and video content for all social media and professional accounts

  • Monitor, track, and report on feedback and online reviews

  • Organize and manage events to boost brand awareness

  • Coordinate with Marketing, PR, and Communications teams 

  • Liaise with Development and Sales departments

  • Build relationships with customers, industry professionals, and journalists

  • Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in blockchain and cryptocurrencies

  • At least two years of experience working with cryptocurrency communities with evidence of good performance.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Swahili or French is an added advantage.

  • Experience managing telegram, WhatsApp groups, Reddit, Discord, and other community channels in the crypto space.

  • Good leadership skills, including crisis management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Fundamental knowledge of crypto exchanges.

  • A communication, English, journalism, marketing, or related field degree may be required.

  • Hands-on experience with social media management, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube, is essential.

  • Proficient in Google Analytics.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of marketing trends and techniques.

  • Superb time management skills.

  • Experience planning and leading community initiatives

  • Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentations skills

  • Knowledge of online marketing 

  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience

  • A degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing, or a related field may be required.
  • Knowledgeable in blockchain and cryptocurrencies

  • At least two years of experience working with cryptocurrency communities with evidence of good performance.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Swahili or French is an added advantage.

  • Experience managing telegram, WhatsApp groups, Reddit, Discord, and other community channels in the crypto space.
