MLabs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team for our exciting new 'Walkways' project. We require a senior-level engineer to lead the mechanical engineering aspects of the project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of the walkway development initiative.

Position: Senior Principal Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Initially remote working (UK). However, we are currently exploring the possibility of establishing an office or warehouse facility to facilitate the installation and testing of the Walkway track.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of the walkway development project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of the project.
• Design and develop innovative mechanical systems and components for Walkways.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
• Oversee the selection and sourcing of materials, components, and suppliers.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on escalators or travelators.
• Proven experience as an engineering manager, lead engineer, or principal engineer.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
