Job Description


As the Senior Sales Officer / Head of Sales, you will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of BitMEX. You will be responsible for creating and executing the sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and working with a high-performing sales team. This role demands a deep understanding of the crypto derivatives trading market and products, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets in fast moving environments.

As Senior Sales Officer / Head of Sales it will be your responsibility to acquire new traders for our platform directly as well as through partners and affiliates. The ultimate goal is to increase trading volume and revenue of the platform, thus creating a superior experience for existing and prospective traders. You will identify new business opportunities, maintain and broaden existing business relationships with our network of partners, while providing competitive market analysis. As such, you will act as an ambassador of our brand and platform while being a trader yourself.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new prospective clients with the goal of getting them onboarded and trading
  • Taking charge of delivering on the sales strategy in a hands-on execution attitude to visibly drive revenue growth and market share. 
  • Pro-actively develop and refine the strategy based on market know-how and observations made from executing on the point above.
  • Work closely with the sales team to follow the strategy consistently.
  • Break-down, communicate, and monitor sales targets, providing guidance and support yourself and the sales team to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
  • Know the BitMEX trading platform and current and future product and service offerings, and how these will affect our client base.
  • Be actively involved in networking to identify and cultivate trader pools. 
  • Engage with key traders and partners to build and nurture strong relationships. Provide direct support, communication, and problem-solving for high-value clients to ensure satisfaction.
  • Continuously work with the sales team to improve the sales process, participating in sales calls and meetings, and providing hands-on guidance. Identify bottlenecks and challenges and implement solutions.
  • Provide in-depth market know-how and analysis, staying on top of trends and competitor activities. Use this knowledge to adjust the sales strategy and guide the team in real-time.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency trading platform within the sales team as well as the broader company by actively participating in product training and regularly sharing hands-on knowledge and expertise.
  • Work closely with the Products team to provide real-time feedback from the sales team and clients, contributing to the development of new products and features. 


  • Experience engaging with clients and strong know-how of the Crypto industry
  • In-depth understanding of the cryptocurrency market, blockchain technology, and related financial products
  • Proven experience in cryptocurrency trading or fintech sales, with a minimum of 4 years in a responsible role
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • A trader yourself with a solid track record of personal trading in the crypto derivatives market, demonstrating a deep understanding of trading strategies and market dynamics
  • Strong understanding of digital currencies and passionate about the space
  • A deep passion for the cryptocurrency industry and a commitment to staying informed about its developments.
  • Exceptional team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams while working collaboratively with other teams within the company.
  • An entrepreneurial mentality with the ability to work well under pressure, thrive working under limited direction, and a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership
  • Must be comfortable with networking.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin preferred.
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with standard business end user computing applications and social media.
