Job Description

Summary

As Program Manager, Strategic Risk, you’ll lead how we identify the risks that matter most to Block. You will have a seat at the table and drive our enterprise risk assessment process, influence how we talk about risk at the executive and board level, and partner across the business to connect the dots on strategic, emerging, and external risks. You’ll also help create governance and training programs that make risk approachable, relevant, and actionable.

We are open to hiring this role remotely anywhere in the US.

You Will

  1. Lead Block’s Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA) process, focusing on forward-looking, insight-driven analysis that influences strategic and operational decisions.
  2. Shape the enterprise risk narrative by taking complex risks and translateing them into clear, compelling, and actionable insights for executive and board reporting.
  3. Identify and assess emerging, macro, and strategic risks across the business. You will identify the risks, drive the conversation, and propose solutions that could materially impact our strategy.
  4. Oversee and improve board and executive risk reporting to ensure leadership has the right information, at the right time, in the right format to make informed, strategic decisions.
  5. Create risk messaging that lands and help foster the communication strategy by partnering with key partners.
  6. Manage strategic risk escalation paths and governance models that enable, not obstructs.
  7. Design and launch engaging training and learning programs that promote risk awareness across the company.

You Have

  1. 8+ years of experience in enterprise risk, strategy or related field.
  2. Experience with risk methodologies and best practices, but you don’t apply them rigidly. You adapt, evolve, and shape them to fit the business.
  3. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, evidenced by delivering comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management that have influenced strategic decisions.
  4. Experience working cross-functionally with senior partners in high-growth or complex organizations.

Even Better

  1. Experience in the Fintech industry
