Marketing Data Analyst - South Africa Remote

An opportunity has developed on our Marketing team for an experienced Marketing Data Analyst.  As our Marketing Data Analyst, you will be designing databases and KPI/metrics dashboards.   You will also be analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing optimizations across digital channels.   The ideal candidate for this role has experience with digital marketing in a high growth startup.

Responsibilities

  • Design databases and KPI/metrics dashboards to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability;
    • Automate tasks for efficiency using Zapier.
    • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports, and key reporting tools.
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and implement optimizations on a day to day basis across multiple digital channels including paid search/social, display, mobile, and email Marketing;
    • Optimize conversion rates for lead generation campaigns using A/B testing, calls to action and customer interactions on website landing pages.
    • Manage Google Analytics across all products (including Google tag manager, campaigns, associated dashboards)
  • Facilitate company-branded email campaigns with Constant Contact using content that increases open rates, conversion rates, and lead generation.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance and implement in-market optimizations by applying data   analysis techniques, including utilization of digital attribution tools, to identify trends and drivers.
  • Design new webpages for the company on Squarespace and utilizing CSS3, use Unbounce to create landing pages, and use Wordpress for digital ad campaigns and presenting new products.
  • Develop partnerships with digital platforms including Google, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Ensure consistency of brand identity across all marketing collateral and online.
  • Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address Shift Markets requirements;
    • Perform knowledge discovery and use the results to develop strategies that will result in addressing Shift Markets database requirements.
  • Build, manage and communicate database standards on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
    • Build and manage database standards and communicate those standards during recurring business meetings.
  • Ensure marketing campaign funnels and customer behavior flows are tagged and tracked accurately, for reporting and analysis purposes;
    • Work with the marketing team as the sole analyst, managing CRM, creating and maintaining weekly reports based on data collected from Google Analytics & Google Adwords and the Zoho CRM tool.
    • Conduct conversion latency analysis and create latency projection models to provide key insights for customer value calculation and attribution.
    • Compile reports about the status of marketing campaigns for unique product offerings that have individual website landing pages in tandem with our financial technology, which is customized in-house to each clients specifications.
  • Develop recommendations for changes to investment and marketing strategy, optimizing the efficacy of marketing spend based on quantitative analyses;
  • Participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings and give weekly presentations to the CEO, senior management and leadership on digital marketing channel performance and strategy for the company.
    • Create marketing reports for senior management, including reports on the success of events, etc
    • Summarize findings to create reports with data generated by the marketing team, using Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps, then communicate recommendations and updates to stakeholders.
    • Discuss marketing and advertising strategy with senior management for specific campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium, and YouTube.
    • Highlight key areas that should align with client product goals.
    • Act on insights to drive marketing campaigns toward strategic goals.
    • Work closely with the CEO as part of a cross-functional project team.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend hardware or software technologies to achieve desired database performance;
    • Identify and compile a list of all the production servers used by all multifamily applications and provide them to the hosting team.
  • Demonstrate database technical functionality;
    • Assist in curating workflow rules and custom functions of the CRM database to create meaningful and dynamic reports.
    • Segment data using Google Analytics and Google Data Studio to determine the lifetime value of our clients.
  • Develop and utilize a variety of analytical tools used at Shift Markets;
    • Assist in the development of business intelligence platforms for data visualization and insight generation, for use in campaign monitoring and optimization.
    • Utilize Google Data Studio for marketing campaign monitoring and optimization.
    • Recommend tests that identify trends and insights, in order to achieve maximum ROI.
  • Monitor and report systems trends to assure systems meet requirements and provide data-driven insights to the company's C-level executives and clients;
    • Analyze market trends and patterns, implementing solutions to keep the existing business model updated.
  • Provide data-driven insights about company growth to executives and define the steps needed to increase that growth.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing data analysis or business intelligence data analysis
  • Bachelors degree in digital marketing or data science (or similar fields)

This is a permanently remote-based role which requires 40 hours per week.  Compensation depends on experience.
