Summary

What you'll do

  1. Develop and execute the overall business development strategy for payment services, with a focus on merchant acquisition and revenue growth.
  2. Identify new market opportunities and build a pipeline of high-potential merchant and enterprise clients.
  3. Establish strategic partnerships with merchants, payment aggregators, and ecosystem players.
  4. Lead negotiations on commercial terms, including merchant discount rates (MDRs) and service level agreements.
  5. Build and manage a high-performing BD team, setting clear targets and coaching team members to exceed KPIs.
  6. Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Legal, and Marketing to deliver seamless merchant onboarding and account growth.
  7. Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activity to continuously refine GTM (go-to-market) strategies.
  8. Represent the company in external meetings, industry events, and partner engagements.

What we expect from you

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; MBA is a plus.
  2. 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services.
  3. Strong understanding of the digital payments ecosystem (e.g., card acquiring, POS, QR, e-wallets).
  4. Demonstrated success in leading sales teams, closing strategic deals, and driving market expansion.
  5. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  6. Data-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.With more than 5 years of experience in business development, sales, and client management within the payments, crypto, fintech, and traditional finance industries.
  7. Proven track record of generating leads and supporting client acquisition efforts.
  8. Ability to coordinate with international partners and stakeholders.
  9. Can speak and understand Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
