Summary

Experienced Technical Content Writer to create, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation that clearly communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering or computer science, combined with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with product, engineering, and customer support teams to produce content for user manuals, technical guides, online help, and embedded product documentation.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop, write, and edit technical content including user manuals, help documentation, FAQs, and product guides.
  2. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
  3. Create and maintain web-based and multimedia documentation for internal and external use.
  4. Ensure all content adheres to documentation and quality assurance standards.
  5. Review, revise, and update documentation based on feedback, new product releases, or procedural changes.
  6. Recommend and implement best practices for content structure, formatting, and delivery methods.
  7. Participate in planning and strategy discussions related to documentation and user communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing or technical content development.
  3. Proven ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly.
  4. Experience with content creation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.
  5. Knowledge of markup languages (HTML/XML) and familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
  6. Strong research, communication, and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Familiarity with software development or engineering environments is a plus

Desirable Skills

  1. Experience creating embedded user assistance content or in-product help content.
  2. Understanding of document control standards and best practices
  3. Ability to align documentation with product messaging, positioning, and enablement strategies.
  4. Exposure to Agile or similar development methodologies.
  5. Experience supporting training efforts through documentation or enablement materials.
  6. Graphic design or visual communication experience is a plus
  7. Familiarity with internal documentation tools such as Notion, Confluence, or Loom.
