Summary

We’re seeking a resourceful Business Development Associate with ** experience in the legal industry** to help drive our new software business. This role will play a key part in expanding our client base, nurturing relationships, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Client Strategy, you’ll be at the forefront of our outreach to corporate legal departments and other key players in the legal ecosystem.

This is a base + commission role. This role has an in-office requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and research prospective clients in the legal industry
  2. Initiate contact and build relationships with legal professionals (law firms, in-house counsel, legal ops teams)
  3. Qualify inbound and outbound leads and move them through the sales pipeline
  4. Collaborate closely with marketing and client strategy to tailor outreach and messaging
  5. Maintain accurate records in the CRM and provide regular pipeline updates
  6. Monitor legal industry trends and competitor activity to refine strategy
  7. Assist in developing sales materials and campaign strategies

Requirements

  1. 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles in the legal or legal technology industry
  2. Strong understanding of legal services, law firm structures, or corporate legal departments
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  5. Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
  6. Self-starter with a proactive, growth-oriented mindset
  7. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
