Job Description
Summary
We are looking for a Senior IT Administrator to serve as the technical lead for our Malta office. This position requires a security-first mindset and expertise in the Apple ecosystem. The successful candidate will move beyond ticket closing to focus on infrastructure automation, identity management, and security compliance. They will act as the primary escalation point for complex macOS issues and network tasks, ensuring our local and global teams operate securely and efficiently. This is where the candidate will embody an “act local, think global” mindset - ensuring the Malta office operates seamlessly while contributing to security architectures and automation strategies that scale across our worldwide operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Security & Compliance
- Identity & Access Management: Architect and manage the user directory and identity lifecycle using JumpCloud (using SSO and MFA technologies) to ensure zero-trust access to company resources.
- Security Policy Enforcement: Development and enforcement of IT compliance policies ensuring all endpoints and users meet strict security standards.
- Vulnerability Management: Monitor system integrity using security tools, responding immediately to security incidents or policy violations.
Endpoint Management
- Device Lifecycle Automation: Oversee the provisioning and automated enrollment (Zero-Touch) of Apple hardware. Manage the entire asset lifecycle from onboarding to secure off-boarding/wiping.
- MDM Administration: Configure and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) policies to ensure all laptops and mobiles are updated, encrypted, and compliant.
Networking & Infrastructure
- Network Operations: Manage and troubleshoot office network infrastructure ensuring high availability and secure remote access for hybrid users.
Automation & Operations
- Process Automation: Identify inefficiencies in manual IT tasks and implement automation scripts to streamline operations.
- Daily Operations: Collaborate with other teams (both technical and non-technical) to solve day-to-day operational tasks, ensuring IT solutions align with the specific needs of other departments like DevOps, HR, and Finance.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Refine and perfect the "Joiner, Mover, Leaver" process to ensure new hires have immediate or automated access and departing employees are revoked instantly to protect company data.
- Vendor & Documentation: Manage relationships with local hardware vendors and create professional technical documentation for workflows and troubleshooting guides.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills
- Senior Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration ideally with a focus on Apple/macOS environments.
- Directory Services: Knowledge of DaaS platforms for identity management.
- Networking: Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and experience managing office-grade network hardware.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages to automate administrative tasks and API integrations will be a bonus.
- Security Tools: Experience with modern security tools (EDR, MDM configuration) and audit compliance frameworks.
