What You’ll Do

1. Architect and develop scalable, cloud-native microservices in Python using AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB).
2. Build event-driven systems with Apache Kafka to support real-time processing and reliable service communication.
3. Integrate smart contract logic and Web3 infrastructure into backend systems with a focus on security and performance.
4. Implement CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling (e.g., GitLab CI, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) for full lifecycle ownership.
5. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver production-ready Web3 solutions aligned with Bitpanda’s platform architecture.

Who You Are

1. Expert in backend development with deep knowledge of Python and bonus points for experience in Go or TypeScript in production systems.
2. Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture
3. Proficient with AWS cloud services, containerized environments, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
4. Expert in blockchain principles including EVMs, writing smart contracts, dApps, and on-chain/off-chain integrations.
5. Passionate about clean code, system reliability, and continuous improvement in fast-paced engineering environments.
