Summary
The Counsel team is looking for a dynamic Program Manager, Legal Innovation to join our Legal Operations team. You will lead strategic AI and innovative projects end-to-end, driving rapid execution and enthusiastic cultural adoption. You'll solve complex problems with both strategic vision and hands-on tactics, while championing our success stories and fostering excitement for change across the organization, reporting into our Legal Operations Lead.
You Will
- Convert ideas into executable plans—scoping, prioritizing, and launching AI/innovation initiatives that align with strategic legal goals with speed and purpose.
- Remove blockers and escalate decisively to prioritize and keep deliverables on track.
- Develop integrated project plans, timelines, and budgets; maintain governance artifacts (roadmaps, RACI matrices, risk registers, issue logs).
- Manage scope throughout the project lifecycle through regular, concise executive briefings and dashboards that highlight progress, risks, and next steps.
- Define and track metrics, quality and performance indicators, to help measure program progress and success.
- Facilitate partnerships with attorneys, practice groups, and other partners to promote legal automation and AI adoption.
- Develop and implement communication plans to promote project milestones, pilot results, and ROI outcomes through case studies, success stories, and “lunch and learn” sessions.
- Evaluate new technologies by coordinating pilot programs and feasibility studies, capturing insights and scaling successful proofs of concept into production
- Design and Implement change-management and training programs that increase adoption of new AI tools, automation workflows, and platforms.
- Promote a culture of iterative enhancement, applying Lean Six Sigma, and Agile methodologies.
- Help optimize innovation platforms, legal orchestration systems, and knowledge-management databases to enhance workflow efficiency.
You Have
- Bachelor's degree; four to eight years' experience in the legal environment with direct knowledge of legal service workflows.
- In-depth understanding of legal processes, workflows, and legal technology.
- Experience analyzing data, developing use cases, and creating functional requirements for systems and tools.
- Strong presentation skills to help advocate for our efforts internally and lead change and adoption.
- Curiosity around AI and experience testing or using existing AI tools.
- PMP, Agile or Six Sigma experience preferred.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
