Summary

Anchorage is looking for a seasoned tax professional who has a passion for working across multiple functions and connecting the Tax and Product worlds. This role will own the Tax/Product & Engineering relationship on an end-to end basis, serving as the Tax point of contact for all aspects of the product life cycle: design reviews, launch and operational readiness, and ensuring tax reporting requirements arising from the operation of Anchorage products/services are met. The Product Tax Lead will also monitor regulatory developments and provide critical information to product build teams, as well as partner closely with regulatory, legal, and finance teams.

Technical Skills:

  1. Build and scale partnerships with Product / Engineering teams, ensuring integration of tax requirements into product design, operations and business processes, and develop efficient processes to allow for regulatory changes

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  1. Develop trust and effective collaboration with stakeholder groups, along with other key Finance functions, to support the company’s product and business initiatives.
  2. Efficiently manage tax contributions across multiple initiatives and product launches, focusing on ability to both identify pain points and design practical solutions

Organizational Knowledge:

  1. Responsible for developing and managing information flow between Product and Tax Operations, keeping the team apprised of product changed, development and overall road map

Communication and Influence:

  1. Maintain close connections with business and product teams to proactively address tax-related issues, help address customer feedback and develop tax efficient solutions.
  2. Partner with other members of the finance team to identify automation and improvement opportunities, define business requirements, and translate them into technical and operational solutions, aligned with Anchorage’s tax and business objectives

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  1. 10+ years of combined relevant experience in public-accounting or law firms and US-based multinational corporations, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a Tax function supporting Product teams
  2. Proven experience communicating complex tax and technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including varying levels of leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  3. High tolerance for ambiguity, and the ability to confidently articulate clear advice and guidance to stakeholders in the face of rapidly changing facts
  4. Familiarity and experience with US information reporting requirements, including compliance cycles and managing 3rd party service providers in a crypto or Fintech role.
  5. Knowledge of indirect tax regimes in the US and abroad, including experience with tax engines, indirect tax software. Past experience with configuration and implementation of such tools is a plus.
  6. Enthusiasm about leveraging emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning to enhance tax processes and data-driven decision-making.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  1. You have experience applying generative AI or machine learning within tax or finance operations
