Summary

As a Principal Product Manager on the Avatar team, you will help drive the vision and strategy for user identity on the platform. You will own our vision and roadmap for avatar clothing - bringing the diversity and expression of real-world fashion to Roblox. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and other product leaders to deliver best-in-class solutions. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product, Avatar, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of how creators, artists, and users interact in our multi-sided avatar content system.

You will:

1. Define and execute the product roadmap for Avatar clothing, ensuring alignment with company and team objectives
2. Steer cross-functional teams (engineering, design, product marketing, etc.) to deliver innovative features that delight our users and streamline creator workflows
3. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, prioritize improvements, and ensure our systems meet evolving community needs
4. Include deep user empathy, UX insight, and a data-informed approach to identify opportunities for product optimization, iteration, and long-term growth
5. Help guide the vision for avatars and identity at Roblox, influencing broader company thinking and strategy around 3D characters

You have:

1. A track record of solving hard problems
2. Deep technical experience with avatar systems in shipped and scaled products
3. Proven experience in building, shipping, or supporting 3D content creation tools or pipelines
4. A deep understanding of the product life cycle, from concept to launch and ongoing support
5. A history of successfully collaborating with engineering teams and other stakeholders to deliver complex, technical products on time
6. You have a Masters degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, 3D Animation or Games Production or a similar technical field
7. Passion for driving user-centric product decisions with an inclusive and strategic mindset

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
