Summary

We're looking for a Workday Integration Engineer to join our Workday Integration team. This team builds and manages our HR systems, ensuring they scale with Block's growth. You'll develop and maintain integrations that connect Workday to dozens of internal and external systems. Your work will support our People and Payroll teams, helping streamline operations and improve the employee experience.

You Will

  1. Design, build, and maintain scalable Workday integrations using Workday Studio, Extend, Core Connectors, and EIB, including the creation of custom applications to enhance user experience
  2. Serve as a subject matter expert on integration architecture, development patterns, and best practices across the Workday ecosystem
  3. Lead technical planning, development, deployment, unit testing, and support of new and existing integrations
  4. Configure and optimize PECI integrations, including custom fields, mapping logic, and file formats, while resolving payroll-related data issues
  5. Investigate integration failures, perform root cause analysis, and communicate findings to business and technical stakeholders
  6. Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Payroll, IT, InfoSec) and third-party vendors to define integration requirements and ensure security and compliance
  7. Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation, including version control, test plans, and CI/CD processes
  8. Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our Workday strategy

You Have

  1. 5+ years of experience in software or integration engineering, including deep Workday expertise
  2. Experience with at least one full Workday implementation
  3. Proficiency in Workday Studio, Extend, EIB, Core/Cloud Connectors, PECI, and Workday Web Services
  4. Strong skills in XML, XSLT, JavaScript, SOAP/REST APIs, SQL, and data transformation
  5. Ability to lead cross-functional projects and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  6. A collaborative mindset with a focus on inclusion, reliability, and continuous improvement
  7. Workday certifications as a bonus

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
