The Role: Staff Software Engineer (Frontend)

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you’ll work with a cross-functional team of web, mobile, and backend engineers to help solve complex problems that will directly influence the direction of the digital asset space. As part of this role, you’ll help drive customer experience improvements to set us apart in the industry and build a world-class crypto exchange. This role is required to be in person twice a week at our New York City, NY office.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design and deliver high-quality features on Gemini platform.
2. Build efficient and reusable UI components and architect reliable, performant, and maintainable solutions. Review other software engineers’ code for correctness, style, and information security concerns.
3. Own the DevOps lifecycle for a product; building, validating and maintaining high quality products through its lifetime.
4. Provide technical input and knowledge to the planning, design, and requirements process for new products and features.
5. Lead scoping and effort estimation exercises of complex initiatives, and lead tech debt management best practices.
6. Mentor less tenured engineers and onboarding new team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. You have at least 8 years of experience building consumer-facing web applications at scale.
2. You are comfortable working with JavaScript/Typescript.
3. You are a React.js expert.
4. You have knowledge of web best practices and stay informed about innovations in the web industry and the ability to bring in adoption for the same.
5. You have a strong understanding of UX/UI concepts and a demonstrated record of design and product sensibility.
6. You have the ability to work closely across global teams (and time-zones), across cross-functional stakeholders and manage inter dependencies.
7. You have a customer and product-focused mindset, with the ability to make well-reasoned tradeoffs between speed and quality.
8. You have the ability to adapt and handle multiple competing priorities in collaboration with peers.
9. Deep understanding of Operational Excellence, Engineering Excellence and objective (data driven) decision making.
10. You are skilled in eliminating manual touch points in SLDC.
11. You have the expertise in automated testing - Unit, Integration and end-to-end.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working with performance analysis tooling.
2. Experience influencing product decisions with data.
3. Experience working with experimentation.
4. Experience as a user of crypto products.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $168,000 - $240,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
