SingleStore's Solutions Engineers (SEs) solve cutting-edge technology challenges in today's data-driven world. When customers are evaluating SingleStore, SEs are the trusted technical experts who identify, propose and demonstrate how SingleStore can solve their customers' key business challenges. As key members of the sales organization, SEs add significant value to the customer's success experience while contributing directly to the company's growth and revenue.

In this role, you will identify the technical requirements necessary to deliver business value to our Fortune 1000 customers. You will work with Enterprise Account Executives to help acquire new customers and grow existing accounts. You will apply your technical ability and business acumen to understand complex solutions and create and deliver high-quality demos that resonate with customers.

Main business activities

1. Work with Account Executives to help acquire new clients (logos) and grow existing accounts
2. Design, develop and deploy Proof of Concept (PoC) for potential clients
3. Lead the technical evaluation phase of the sales process (as a technical lead/expert in query tuning, load testing, etc.)
4. Collaborate with internal teams such as product and engineering to share feedback on customer needs and requests

Application Qualifications and Skills

1. Those who currently reside in the Tokyo metropolitan area or are planning to relocate in the near future
2. Native level Japanese and business level English reading, writing and speaking ability.
3. Experience selling infrastructure software (especially databases, distributed systems, etc.)
4. Basic understanding of databases, including analytical processing and transaction processing
5. Experience designing and implementing PoCs, including implementing complex technologies in customer environments
6. Deep understanding of all databases including competing products such as Oracle, SAP, MySQL, Teradata etc.
7. Experience in conducting technical presentations and demonstrations for customers.
8. Experience in supporting operations after database implementation (installation, configuration, project management, etc.)
9. Understanding of cloud environments, container configuration, deployment, and orchestration (including Kubernetes)
10. Programming skills such as Python and PHP
11. Able to travel domestically and internationally
12. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
