Summary

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1.  Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
2. Strong technical expertise in Java 8 or later versions, along with proficiency in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
3. Practical experience in developing and deploying applications on cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Cloud Foundry
4.  Hands on experience with web technologies (e.g. HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, etc.) and the capability to develop applications using microservice architecture or API principles
5. Experience with distributed streaming platforms like Kafka and familiarity with IBM MQ message broker
6. Proficient in working with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and MongoDB
7. Skilled in using web-based version control tools like GIT and Bitbucket
8. Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture, with a solid understanding of J2EE design patterns
9. Experienced in DevOps practices, including build, deployment, integration, code management, and tools like Jenkins, Maven, and automated deployment
10. Familiar with Agile software development methodologies.

2. Experience in developing software using domain-driven design (DDD) approach
3. Ability to negotiate, communicate and deliver effective Automated Test solutions to both Development and QA teams
