As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase in the Corporate Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  1. Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  2. Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
  3. Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
  4. Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
  5. Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
  6. Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
  7. Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  8. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience with SQL, ETL, PL/SQL programming.
  2. Working knowledge of big data technologies and concepts.
  3. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  4. Working knowledge of Unix and Shell scripting.
  5. Experience in resolving the data processing performance issues through improvements.
  6. Experience in projects with large data volumes, batch processing.
  7. Proficient in coding in one or more languages
  8. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  9. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  10. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security, Jules, Jenkins, Git/Stash
  11. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  1. Knowledge in Databricks, Oracle, Spark, HBase
  2. Knowledge in Python Programming
  3. Knowledge in AWS technologies, Terraform, Airflow
