Summary

Join zerohash as a Settlement and Trading Operations Engineer and help drive the efficiency of our global value transfer infrastructure. This role is designed for a technically-minded professional who enjoys bridging the gap between high-stakes financial operations and scalable engineering solutions. You will play a key part in ensuring our digital asset and fiat transactions move seamlessly while leveraging intermediate-level programming and AI-driven workflows to optimize our daily operations.

Responsibilities

1. Daily Settlement Execution: Oversee and manage the end-to-end processing of crypto and fiat transfers, ensuring all transactions are finalized accurately and within strict settlement windows.
2. Data Reconciliations: Perform complex checks between internal ledgers and external bank/custodian statements to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
3. Advanced Troubleshooting: Investigate failed transfers or mismatched data by writing sophisticated SQL queries and reviewing distributed transaction logs to identify root causes in real-time.
4. Workflow Automation: Develop and maintain intermediate Python scripts (leveraging libraries like pandas or requests) to automate complex reconciliation tasks, reducing manual touchpoints and increasing speed.
5. AI Integration: Actively utilize AI tools and LLMs to accelerate script development, perform anomaly detection on settlement data, and draft technical documentation for operational processes.
6. Reporting & Analytics: Build and optimize recurring dashboards and data models to track transaction health, liquidity trends, and operational performance for leadership.
7. Cross-Functional Engineering Support: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to stress-test new features, provide feedback on API architecture, and help build internal settlement tools for zerohash.
8. Technical Client Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact for institutional clients to resolve complex transaction inquiries and API integration hurdles.

Requirements

1. Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in financial operations, payments, or a related back-office settlement role.
2. Intermediate Python Proficiency: Strong ability to write, debug, and maintain Python scripts. You should be comfortable with data manipulation, error handling, and integrating with REST APIs.
3. Intermediate SQL Knowledge: Proficiency in writing complex queries, including multi-table joins, subqueries, and Common Table Expressions (CTEs) to analyze large-scale datasets.
4. AI Proficiency: Required experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude) to enhance productivity, optimize code, and solve operational problems more efficiently.
5. API Fundamentals: Solid understanding of API architecture and experience using tools like Postman to interact with production-grade financial environments.
6. Attention to Detail: A proven track record of high precision in transactional environments where accuracy is critical to preventing financial loss.
7. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related technical field.
8. Communication: Excellent ability to translate complex technical "breaks" into clear actionable insights for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
