The Role:

 

Senior Manager, Software Engineering

This role is required to be in person twice a week at our New York City, NY office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership: Develop and maintain an engineering roadmap as well as co-developing the technical strategy that will continue to drive technical innovation and drive large scale business growth.
  2. Program Management and Engineering Execution: Ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution and operations. Work with Product teams and business leadership to efficiently deliver on business and product outcomes in a rapidly evolving industry, with a strong focus on maintaining the high level of availability and security for our users.
  3. Recruiting and Team-Building: Lead the scaling of Gemini’s engineering teams through recruiting strategies that efficiently identify & attract the world’s top engineering talent; develop Gemini’s current talent by honing functional and qualitative skills.
  4. Engineering Processes and Practices: Develop and maintain development methodologies which allow development teams to rapidly iterate and provide consistent quality at high velocity. Plan the development of highly automated build, test and deploy frameworks in collaboration with our infrastructure teams and other internal groups. 
  5. Technology Management: Lead, manage and mentor engineers. Manage staff goals, performance feedback, career development and opportunities for continuous learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 10+ years of experience in software development with languages such as: Java, C++ or Scala.
  3. 4+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers in a high precision, regulated industry.
  4. Proven track record of developing and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems.
  5. Experience with agile development methodologies and a commitment to following best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  8. Familiarity with cloud technologies and microservices architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in the crypto or fintech industry
  2. Understanding of blockchain technologies and crypto wallets

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $195,000 - $300,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
