Summary

You will be joining a small team working with Brian Armstrong, Coinbase CEO, on developing consumer‑facing AI products, with a primary focus on designing our Coinbase AI Advisor experience in the Coinbase Retail App.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): 

1. Contribute to the overall direction and decision-making for product and design strategy
2. Own the end‑to‑end user journey for Coinbase AI Advisor across mobile and web, from first‑time activation through repeat usage
3. Translate complex mechanics (risk, yield, trading, tax implications) into simple, high‑trust flows that help retail customers make informed decisions
4. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Legal/Compliance to define problems, explore solutions, and ship experiences quickly
5. Design high‑quality UI and interaction patterns that are simple and intuitive for users
6. Run iterative design cycles: ideate, prototype, test with users, and refine based on both qualitative research and quantitative data

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 

1. 5+ years of product design experience
2. Strong product thinking: you can take ambiguous, technical problems (AI + financial products) and turn them into clear customer journeys and flows
3. Proven track record of working within a product team to ship successful products to users
4. Sharp attention to detail and mastery over your craft: visual design, interaction design, and prototyping
5. Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management experience
6. Thrives in fast-paced (sometimes ambiguous) environment
7. Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools
8. Low ego, loves to collaborate, and open minded
9. Experience designing AI-powered products (e.g., assistants, agents, recommendation systems)
10. Interest and experience in financial products and/or crypto

Nice to haves:

1. Experience operating in startups, building products 0-1, and high agency / ownership
2. Experience with financially regulated products, a plus

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$180,370 - $212,200 USD
