Summary

As a Senior Network Operations Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for operating our rapidly growing global network reliably and at scale. This includes monitoring network stability, troubleshooting issues, deploying new infrastructure, supporting PoP and data center builds, managing peering turn-ups, performing code upgrades, and executing network maintenance. You will work closely with teams across Network Engineering, Network Automation, and Field Operations to develop and drive operational improvements in day-to-day operations, change management, and workflows, ensuring the success of our network operations.

You will also participate in cross-functional infrastructure projects, design reviews, and provide recommendations that support our operational strategy. Given the scale and complexity of our services and hosting platform, this role offers an opportunity for an experienced network operations engineer to take on new challenges while leveraging deep technical expertise.

You will:

  1. Be part of the Network Operations and Deployment team.
  2. Provision and troubleshoot Layer 1 backbone circuits.
  3. Manage peering turn-ups and coordinate with circuit vendors.
  4. Participate in weekly calls to coordinate efforts across teams, driving data center and PoP builds and ensuring seamless operations.
  5. Maintain and deploy metro-optical systems.
  6. Perform OS patching across thousands of network devices.
  7. Collaborate with the Network Automation team to drive toward 100% automation, set up dashboards, and define and refine alerts to improve telemetry and monitoring coverage.
  8. Participate in the Network Operations on-call rotation to support our global network infrastructure.

You have:

  1. 4+ Years of experience with a B.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Strong experience deploying and operating large-scale networks.
  3. Proficiency in deploying and managing data centers and PoPs.
  4. A proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
  5. Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting large-scale BGP deployments.
  6. Experience working in multi-vendor environments with hands-on exposure to Juniper, Arista, and Cisco networking hardware.

Nice to have:

  1. Familiarity with Quality-of-Service (QoS)
  2. Familiarity in IS-IS, and MPLS
  3. Familiarity with network security operations, router ACLs, and iptables.
  4. Experience with DWDM technologies.
  5. Experience with hardware SNAT appliances, such as A10 and F5.

Location:

This role is hybrid and requires three days per week in our Virginia Location
