Summary

As the cornerstone of Bitpanda’s internal IT audit function, you will build and shape a scalable, high-impact audit capability rooted in our company DNA. With deep experience auditing global operations across large-scale tech companies, you will lead the execution of comprehensive IT audits — covering regulatory compliance across EU, MENA, and Asian markets, including frameworks such as MaRisk and DORA. Your work spans audits of data centres, cloud service providers, and self-hosted wallet infrastructures, either remotely or on the ground.

Beyond audits, you’ll be deeply embedded in our product development lifecycle, bringing a regulatory lens and efficiency mindset to the table. You thrive on collaboration with stakeholders, championing IT control effectiveness and fostering a culture of compliance. Your high-quality reporting and follow-up on audit findings contribute directly to the ongoing security and integrity of our products. What you’ll do 

1. IT Audit Execution: Lead and conduct IT audits with a focus on global compliance requirements, including EU, MENA, and Asian markets, ensuring adherence to MaRisk, MiCA, DORA, and relevant IT standards and frameworks.
2. Auditing of data centres, Cloud Service Providers and own hosted wallet structures centrally or on the ground 
3. Stakeholder collaboration: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation to align on regulatory requirements, ensure the effectiveness of IT controls, and promote a culture of compliance.
4. Reporting: Draft high quality audit reports for review by audit management, facilitates finding tracking, and validates actions taken to remediate previous audit findings. Additional support in preparing quarterly and annual management reporting.
5. Project Management: Manage and coordinate internal and external IT-related audits with collaboration of various stakeholders.
6. Safeguarding the business by leading IT audit execution across the Bitpanda Group, with primary responsibility for one of our key MENA entities.

Who you are 

1. Financial Industry Expertise: IT Audit professional with a deep understanding of financial regulations, ideally knowledge of outsourcing/ICT service provider desired.
2. Qualified Professional: Degree in business administration/economics, computer science, information technology or a related field. Beneficial are professional / industry recognised certifications (e.g. CISA, CIA, CISSP).
3. Effective Communicator: Confident appearance and strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all hierarchy levels. Fluent in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in German is a strong asset.
4. Dedicated Professional: A Self-driven, eager to learn and adapt to new standards, well organised team player with strong analytical skills and willing to travel on an occasional basis.
