Summary

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to build scalable solutions that aggregate and process financial data from multiple sources, including platform transactions, external financial institutions, market data, and internal systems. You will be responsible for leading technical strategy, scaling data infrastructure, and mentoring a high-performing team.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): 

1. Lead a team of data engineers and data scientists to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and financial analytics platforms.
2. Partner with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Engineering to ensure seamless data integration and automation of financial workflows.
3. Define and implement data governance, quality, and security best practices to support financial operations.
4. Develop interactive dashboards and reporting solutions to empower finance teams with data-driven insights.
5. Drive initiatives to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
6. Mentor and grow the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
7. Partner with peers and stakeholders to define and execute roadmaps that can help the function scale.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 

1. 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
2. Expertise in data pipeline development, ETL frameworks, and data modeling.
3. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or other scripting languages.
4. Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or equivalent).
5. Deep understanding of financial data processing, accounting, and treasury workflows.
6. Experience in designing and optimizing data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, or similar).
7. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate business needs into technical solutions.
8. Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence.
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to haves:

1. Previous experience working with financial services data is a plus.
2. Previous working experience or knowledge of crypto is a plus.
3. Domain experience in Payments, Accounting and Finance areas.
4. Experience with Looker, Tableau or other business intelligence platforms.
