Summary

The Senior Compliance Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s treasury operations; ensuring audit, statutory, and direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple international jurisdictions. This role partners closely with Finance, Tax, Legal, and external advisors to maintain strong controls, drive process improvements, and ensure the Company remains compliant, and audit-ready. Success is measured by the timely and accurate completion of audits and tax filings, proactive management of compliance risks, and consistent weekly reporting of global cash positions to the Leadership Team.

Please Note: This is a hybrid role and will require candidates to come into our London office, ideally commutable from South East England area.

In this role, you will

  1. Monitor daily cash positions and report weekly the cash position to Leadership Team
  2. Monitor entity-level cash balances and forecast near-term funding requirements, coordinating intercompany funding or transfers as needed.
  3. Manage relationships with banks and review/update Treasury policies
  4. Partner with Finance and Accounting to support cash management processes, including payment timing, working capital considerations, and system alignment.
  5. Support the opening, maintenance, and closure of global bank accounts, including coordination with Legal, Tax, and external banking partners.
  6. Prepare and review statutory financial statements under local GAAP and/or IFRS, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  7. Assist in the preparation of the corporate tax and deferred tax returns for legal entities
  8. Work closely with external accounting firms on various compliance projects
  9. Take responsibility for filing of VAT/GST/sales tax returns accurately and on time in each country
  10. Partner with Tax and external advisors on VAT/GST matters, audits, and process improvements.
  11. Work with external agencies to recover EU VAT and support VAT registrations, reconciliations, and ongoing compliance as new entities or business models are introduced.
  12. Prepare and review inter-company recharge calculations across EU, APAC, and UK entities, ensuring alignment with transfer pricing policies and economic substance.
  13. Support the execution and ongoing maintenance of the Company’s global transfer pricing framework, including inter-company cost allocations, markup calculations, and documentation support.
  14. Identify opportunities to standardize, streamline, and automate international compliance and reporting processes.

We’re looking for candidates who have…

  1. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
  2. Qualified CIMA/ACCA, or qualified by experience
  3. Experience of NetSuite, MultiBooks experience is advantageous
  4. Working knowledge of IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
  5. Experience in a multi-entity, multinational environment, ideally within a high-growth or SaaS organization.
  6. Strong Excel and Google Sheet skills
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  8. Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  9. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
  10. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
