Summary
Square is seeking a Product Partnerships Manager to lead high-impact product and technology partnerships that help sellers operate more efficiently and grow. This role will have a dual focus on 1/ leading product partnerships that benefit Canadian sellers and 2/ supporting the Square product. We are looking for an experienced product partnerships operator with a track record of leading complex product partnerships end-to-end with strong product and business acumen.
Reporting to the Head of Product Partnerships, this role will work closely with leaders across Square Product, Engineering, Sales, Account Management, Finance, and Legal, as well as CashApp and AfterPay. The ideal candidate is proficient in product development, API integrations, and deep knowledge of the commerce ecosystem (especially for the Canadian market). A deep sense of ownership, drive, and entrepreneurship is essential.
You Will
- Partnership Strategy Create and implement a partner strategy for maximizing the impact of a product partnership – both on the integration experience for Square and the seller, plus economic and commercial viability of the partnership.
- Sourcing, Negotiation, and Deal Leadership Source, evaluate, and secure products partnerships aligned with product priorities. Lead negotiations across product and commercial terms, integration scope, and GTM commitments. Structure partnership agreements that balance partner needs with Square's product objectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership Lead partner initiatives cross-functionally, aligning Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Operations around shared goals. Provide structured partner feedback and market insights to influence product and GTM decisions. Advocate for partners while maintaining disciplined prioritization and strong business judgment.
- Measurement and Accountability Own overall integration experience, including the quality as measured by adoption and usage. Use data and insights to continuously refine partner-level strategy and execution.
You Have
- 9+ years of business development or partner management experience, preferably at an innovative commerce or payments company.
- A demonstrated track record of success managing product partnerships and programs.
- Proven ability to build C-suite relationships and navigate external organizations both to identify internal champions and to influence decision makers. You are an expert negotiator with a strong understanding of commercial contracts and complex negotiating dynamics that may be simultaneously cooperative and competitive.
- Ultimate cross-functional team player: Establish yourself as the go-to voice for our partnership strategy that can be relied on by multiple internal functions and teams. You'll act as an utmost connector and open doors for others, while providing critical market feedback to improve our product.
- Deep comfort operating in the ambiguity of an ever-evolving product.
- Genuine interest and savviness in product – especially working with multiple product and engineering teams for a single partner.
- Willingness to travel (primarily domestically but sometimes internationally) for both internal and external meetings.
- BS/BA required; MBA or Masters degree a plus
