Summary

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer who can join us along this mission and vision. You’ll become an integral part of the Data team, which is creating the best-in-class analytical capabilities (insights and data products) to empower WOO with the correct information at the right time to make data-driven decisions. What you’ll be working on:

1. Assist in building and optimizing data pipelines and data architectures on cloud technologies.
2. Support the development and maintenance of database models, ensuring the expansion and scalability of our data warehouse.
3. Participate in data quality assurance, data migration, integration, and deployment activities to support business needs.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data solutions.
5. Write and maintain ETL processes, and support the creation of real-time and offline analytics tools.
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and tooling.
7. Learn from senior data engineers and actively participate in team knowledge sharing.

About you:

1. Mandatory: Proficient in Hive or Spark SQL, with SQL tuning/optimization capabilities.
2. Basic experience or coursework in data engineering (e.g., SQL, Python).
3. Familiarity with cloud technologies, data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow), and data warehouse concepts.
4. Some knowledge of CI/CD processes and version control systems.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies in a dynamic environment.
7. Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team objectives.
8. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
9. A proactive and curious attitude, willing to take on challenges and seek continuous improvement.
10. Preferred: Familiarity with exchange or financial services business.
11. A technical university background or relevant internship experience is a plus.
