Summary

The position will be reporting to the Manager of the Financials, Assets and Service Management Systems group within Enterprise Technology (ET) in University IT (UIT). This position requires a full stack developer experienced in building highly scalable solutions for enterprise applications in Procure to Pay area. A successful candidate will have demonstrated a track record of delivering quality solutions providing the highest value to the University and solid technical expertise developing microservices. The candidate will be responsible for performing production support activities including, and not limited to, maintaining system configurations, developing custom code, testing, filing/resolving service requests, and estimating enhancements. In addition to development, the candidate will ensure application performance and scalability, maintaining high standards of code quality and architecting thoughtful application design.

 

 

The Financials, Assets and Service Management Systems team is responsible for the support, maintenance, operations and upgrades of various Oracle E-Business Suite applications (iProcurement, Purchasing, Payables, iExpense, iSupplier, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Property Manager), as well as other third party/custom applications and applications developed internally at Stanford. The development toolkit for custom applications includes Spring Framework, Angular JS and Angular 6 or higher. The team also supports various Cloud “Software as a Service” (SAAS) solutions that integrates with Oracle E-business suite including Oracle Fusion Financials and Procurement cloud.

 

 

Core Duties:

  • Conceptualize design, implement, and develop solutions for complex system/programs independently.
  • Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Build solutions end-to-end optimized for speed and scale.
  • Collaborate with a variety of users to gain information, and develop intra-system tradeoffs between different users, as necessary; interact with a diverse client base and outside vendor contacts.
  • Document system builds and application configurations; maintain and update documentation as needed.
  • Provide technical analysis, design, development, conversion, and implementation work.
  • Compare, evaluate, and implement new features and technologies, and integrate them into the computing environment.
  • Follow team software development methodology. This includes but not limited to Change Control, Code Review and Change Management.
  • Create programs to meet reporting needs.
  • Perform support, maintenance, operation, and upgrades of applications.
  • Partner with business management to deliver appropriate technical solutions.

 

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or related field and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.


 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
  • Proficiency with application design and relational databases
  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients.
  • Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
  • Knowledge of application domain.
  • Understanding of all aspects of software development life cycle and quality control practices.
  • Proficient in applications performance tuning
  • Expertise in leading development projects
  • Ability to be technically self-sufficient

 

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years application development experience using SpringBoot, Drop Wizard, Angular JS, Angular 6 or higher
  • Minimum 2+ years java development experience
  • Experience with Mongo DB or Oracle database technology
  • Proficient in Java 8
  • Proficient in developing microservices and deploying in AWS Docker, Kubernetes
  • Proficient in using tools such as Nodejs, NPM, Angular CLI
  • Familiarity with java design patterns and build tools such as Maven
  • Experience in source control version systems such as GIT
  • Experience building REST and SOAP web services using java
  • Experience in Python, R programming is a plus

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone.
  • Rarely writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
