Summary

The IT Manager is responsible for building a team to support BitMEX globally, to identify where processes and procedures would benefit the company and end users and implement them. Manage IT spend and budget, ensure that the IT team is empowered to perform their tasks as required and cultivate excitement for learning and growth. Set and meet company expectations, transition technical hands on responsibilities to team as it grows, scale solutions to meet business requirements proactively.

Desired Results/Deliverables:

  1. AI-Driven Automation & Enablement: Lead firm-wide AI enablement by integrating LLMs into core workflows, such as automated code reviews in GitHub and AI-assisted security auditing.
  2. Low-Code Platform Management: Oversee the secure deployment and scalability of low-code automation platforms to streamline complex business processes for HR, Finance, and Engineering.
  3. Advanced Identity & Lifecycle Automation: Modernize Identity and Access Management by automating user lifecycles, integrating HR systems with core platforms (Okta, Slack, Google Workspace) to minimize manual provisioning.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic & Technical Leadership 
  2. Strategic Technical Partnership: Collaborate with department heads as a technical ambassador for AI, identifying and proactively addressing business needs through emerging technologies.
  3. Internal AI Infrastructure & Governance: Establish and govern internal Large Language Model infrastructure, ensuring secure access controls, data privacy, and prompt safety across the organization.
  4. Infrastructure & Security Operations
  5. Zero Trust Architecture (ZTNA): Evolve the corporate network toward a Zero Trust model
  6. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage IT and security configurations via GitOps and Terraform to ensure an auditable, repeatable, and automated environment.
  7. Automated Endpoint Security & Hardening: Oversee automated vulnerability management and configuration frameworks (e.g., MDM) to ensure proactive fleet-wide security and compliance.
  8. Security Governance Frameworks: Author and maintain critical IT governance frameworks, including "Breakglass" emergency access and disaster recovery protocols for core systems.
  9. Team Management & Development
  10. Talent Acquisition: Develop a high-competency team capable of executing on an ambitious AI-forward roadmap.
  11. Team Mentorship & Development: Mentor the team in modern DevOps and security practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning in areas like Python automation and cloud security.

Qualifications

  1. Critical thinking and desire to grow within the role
  2. 15+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years of management experience.
  3. Capacity to communicate on both technical and non technical levels, translate between levels of knowledge
  4. Ability to manage vendor/supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, ongoing maintenance and problem-resolution.
  5. Expertise managing external consultants
  6. Strong communication skills & technical background
