Summary
We are looking for Intelligence Analysts to join Block and support the continued buildout and evolution of our Block Compliance Intelligence Program which sits within the Financial Crimes Function. The mission of the Intelligence team at Block is to serve as the central intelligence and investigative arm on activity involving the most complex, high risk and/or highly sensitive case referrals on the Block's product and services. The team serves as an escalation point internally for multiple teams, and also triages matters stemming from internal business partners and inquiries from law enforcement agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
In this role, you will support the Intelligence organization by effectively receiving and tracking all Cash and Square SAR supporting documentation requests from various law enforcement agencies, receive and respond to 314B requests, conduct open source and internal checks on subjects, as well as provide law enforcement agencies with the necessary information and documentation surrounding their requests. The role will also require the receiving and tracking of other various law enforcement inquiries, such as Keep Open Letters, National Security Letters, as well as exposure scrubbing from external leads using a multitude of tools and ways.
You Will
- Monitor and act upon supporting documentation requests from law enforcement, filed by either the SIU or various SAR teams
- Track and document each SAR request, besides other various law enforcement requests, and follow up with law enforcement for any additional inquiries
- Track, document and triage each 314b request from member institutions
- Support the broader SIU team and investigators with their casework, including running SQL and Snowflake queries to provide necessary investigative data
- Interact with internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and policies
- Work cross-functionally with Operations teams across Block in addition to other Compliance programs such as the Emerging Risk program.
- Conduct open source scraping and subject research prior to case assignments
You Have
- 2 years' experience as an Intelligence Analyst or experience in EDD, transaction monitoring/compliance/AML with a financial institution, law enforcement or a payment-focused company preferred
- Knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, risks, and typologies
- A strong operations mindset involving time sensitive directives and ability to self-manage workflow across competing priorities
- An ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a drive to deliver outstanding results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with open source research and collections techniques
Even Better
- Relevant industry certifications (CAMS, CFE, CFCS, CRCM)
- Experience with SQL and/or Snowflake
- Cryptocurrency Investigations
- Intelligence Community or Law Enforcement background
