Summary
Messari is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead the strategy and execution of marketing across our B2B SaaS Enterprise Solutions (including our robust suite of APIs) and Protocol Services business lines.
While this leader will oversee the entire marketing function, our most critical need is for hands-on expertise in driving revenue growth for B2B SaaS Enterprise products. On the Protocol Services side, this role will provide strategic oversight and ensure continued reach and distribution, but without the same level of day-to-day involvement.
The Head of Marketing will work in close collaboration with Sales and Product to ensure go-to-market strategies are well-coordinated and repeatable. You will translate strategy into execution, aligning messaging, campaigns, and distribution to amplify our impact across audiences and markets, while maintaining laser focus on the initiatives that truly move the needle for Messari.
What You’ll Do
Revenue Growth & GTM Alignment (Primary Focus: B2B SaaS Enterprise Solutions & API Suite)
- Architect and execute a full-stack marketing strategy, owning the marketing budget end-to-end: allocate spend across channels, measure impact rigorously, and iterate quickly to maximize ROI.
- Co-lead GTM strategy with Sales and Product: align on audiences, positioning, channel mix, KPIs, and post-launch iteration.
- Develop and execute strategies to market APIs, including positioning for developers and enterprise buyers, creating adoption playbooks, and building scalable campaigns that highlight integration use cases.
- Take a hands-on role in driving revenue growth for Messari’s B2B SaaS Enterprise Solutions through full-funnel demand and lead generation campaigns.
- Own the paid marketing strategy for B2B SaaS and manage external contractors to execute campaigns, while maintaining a deep enough understanding of paid search, social, and performance channels to set strategy, evaluate ROI, and hold partners accountable.
- Ensure clean handoff of MQLs to Sales, and support outbound messaging to improve targeting and conversion.
Distribution & Brand Building (Oversight: Protocol Services)
- Provide strategic oversight to scale analyst-led long-form thematic content (e.g., State of Stablecoins, Messari Annual Thesis) into repeatable thought leadership and lead-gen engines that showcase our B2B offerings.
- Provide strategic oversight of Protocol Services marketing: maintain its established distribution footprint, expand engagement with the TradFi audience, and ensure content continues to drive reach and retention.
- Provide strategic oversight on email marketing as a cross-business channel, ensuring consistency, strong audience segmentation, and measurable outcomes.
- Grow Messari’s social presence (@messaricrypto and vertical accounts) into a system that builds brand reach, surfaces insights, and engages key audiences.
- Establish Messari as a thought leader in crypto intelligence via media, podcasts, events, and community advocacy.
Product Marketing & Sales Enablement
- Create compelling case studies and sales decks targeting customers across both business lines: B2B SaaS (including APIs) and Protocol Services.
- Develop and refine content that supports retention, upsell, and client success for Messari Protocol Services.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Deeply understand the needs of the team and strategically hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing marketing org.
- Instill a culture of accountability, experimentation, and measurable impact.
- Balance creative storytelling with data-driven decision-making to maximize performance across all channels.
- Act as a visible external ambassador for Messari, while building strong internal influence across peers and stakeholders.
