Summary

As a founding Full Stack Engineer on the Polygon Fintech Labs team, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our Engineering Manager to build the core application layer for our next-generation fintech products. From day one, you’ll collaborate closely with product and design to architect and ship intuitive, high-impact features that deliver real-world financial utility to millions of users.

This role requires someone who thrives on crafting polished, performant frontend user experiences while also being comfortable building the backend services that power them. You’ll help simplify complex financial workflows — like payments, vaults, and programmable flows — into seamless, accessible products for everyday users.

Your Responsibilities

1. Own key frontend experiences: Build clean, responsive, accessible interfaces that simplify complex financial functionality and delight users.
2. Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs: Work with leading providers for onboarding, KYC/compliance flows, fiat on/off ramps, and payments.
3. Contribute to robust backend infrastructure: Design and maintain services that support transaction execution, data flows, and secure user state.
4. Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with product, design, and engineering peers to deliver end-to-end features with polish and performance.
5. Architect for scale and security: Ensure the systems you build are performant, reliable, and meet the highest standards for security and quality.
6. Iterate fast, ship often: Maintain high velocity while delivering production-quality, maintainable code.

What You’ll Need

1. 4+ years of full stack engineering experience, ideally in fintech or API-driven environments.
2. Strength in frontend development: Deep experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or similar.
3. Strong proficiency with TypeScript and backend frameworks like Node.js, NestJS, or similar.
4. Hands-on experience integrating third-party SDKs/APIs (e.g., payments, identity verification, compliance).
5. Solid knowledge of building secure, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
6. Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, production-ready code in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience building mobile-first, high-performance web applications.
2. Background working in fintech or payments-related systems.
3. Familiarity with security best practices around sensitive user data and financial transactions.
4. Strong understanding of designing and optimizing frontend performance and UX for complex workflows.
