Summary

The Algorand Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial processes across the Foundation’s global activities. This role is well suited for a finance professional seeking hands-on exposure to accounting, reporting and compliance in a fast-paced, remote-first Web3 environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Assist with preparing and posting journal entries in multiple areas across the business
  2. Support month-end close activities, including; cash and balance sheet reconciliations with variance analysis
  3. Own and manage end-to-end Accounts Payable processes (fiat and crypto)
  4. Process vendor invoices, employee expenses and crypto-based payments accurately, ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval policies
  5. Maintain and reconcile AP sub-ledgers, vendor balances and payment records, investigating and resolving discrepancies as they arise
  6. Support budgeting, management reporting and internal finance reporting as required
  7. Assist with audit, tax and compliance-related data preparation
  8. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve accounting queries
  9. Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls and automation, contributing to the scalability of the finance function

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree (preferably: Accounting, Finance or a related discipline)
  2. 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit
  3. Familiarity with accounting systems and strong Excel skills
  4. Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  5. Knowledge in accounting software (preferably Sage Intacct), Excel and modelling tools preferred
  6. Hands-on and proactive professional with ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Ability to work on ad hoc projects
  8. Detail oriented, analytical, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  9. Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions/ambiguity
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities
