As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Corporate Data and Analytics Services team , you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

 

  1. Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
  2. Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  3. Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
  4. Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
  5. Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  6. Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  1. Formal training or certification on team leadership concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  2. Experience leading large feature teams of software engineers to deliver intensive data driven applications
  3. Ability to guide and coach teams on approaches to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives
  4. Knowledge and experience in Java and/or Python, with a strong understanding of scripting, automation, and data analysis
  5. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and management of cloud-based applications
  6. Expertise in data platform technologies, particularly with tools like Databricks, for data processing and analytics
  7. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  8. Experience in Data streaming and messaging frameworks (e.g. Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming)
  9. Experience in Data technologies handling complex data processing requirements
  10. Experience building data pipelines and platforms on AWS
  11. Development experience on private cloud, public cloud (using EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda,  EMR, Step functions, Glue), ETLs and Data Pipeline

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  1. Experience working at code level
  2. Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses and data modelling
  3. Experience in building RESTful micro-services using Spring Boot applications
