Job Description

Summary

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a foundational role in reshaping our data infrastructure while also delivering key insights to drive decision-making. You’ll be responsible for setting up data pipelines, integrating multiple sources (on-chain & off-chain), and maintaining existing dashboards while creating new ones for our leadership and internal teams.

This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical challenge of data engineering and the business impact of analytics. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Design & implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data from multiple sources (blockchain data, Google Analytics, CRM, internal databases).
  2. Build & maintain a centralised data warehouse (BigQuery or similar) to unify structured and unstructured data.
  3. Develop & optimise SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.
  4. Create and maintain dashboards to visualize key metrics, helping teams make data-driven decisions.
  5. Ensure data accuracy & reliability by implementing validation and quality assurance processes.
  6. Automate data processes and improve efficiency through scripting (Python, SQL).
  7. Integrate Web3 analytics tools (e.g. Dune Analytics, Allium, Flipside, etc.) for blockchain data insights.
  8. Assess leads (e.g. grant proposals, product requirement documents, etc) from a technical and data standpoint, focusing on the technical team capabilities, architecture and source code and the timeline credibility.

What You'll Need

  1. Strong SQL skills (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  2. Experience with ETL tools (e.g. Airbyte, Fivetran, or other or custom-built solutions).
  3. Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
  4. Ability to work with a variety of APIs to extract and integrate data (e.g. Google Analytics, CRM, blockchain indexers).
  5. Understanding of blockchain data structures, and how to work with transaction data.
  6. A pragmatic mindset—you know when to build from scratch and when to use existing solutions.
  7. Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Looker, Google Data Studio, Metabase).
  8. Ability to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  1. Knowledge of blockchain indexing (e.g. TheGraph, SubSquid, etc.) and smart contract transactions decoding.
  2. Hands-on experience with Dune Analytics, Allium or Nansen.
  3. Familiarity with data governance best practices.
