Summary

The Business Management Team is responsible for analyzing how initiatives and business has performed; developing visualizations and reports for executive and initiative teams; implementing the organization’s vision for modern analytics; managing to maintain data integrity while handling requests across most departments in the firm (Product, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Business Development).

The successful candidate will work as part of those teams, providing support to its team members.

Responsibilities

1. Own and maintain BitMEX’s data visualization and collaboration tools including Tableau and Redash.
2. Maintain an expert level of understanding of the platform and products so as to provide knowledgeable support to help the firm achieve its business objectives.
3. Provide support to the Business Development team by building and interpreting reports on client trends, behaviour and specific analysis on individual customers.
4. Proactive data driven reporting and analysis of stay up to date with competitors offerings, where BitMEX stands in terms of product suite, volumes, market share; help identify areas we should be focusing on. 
5. Identify additional data sources that supplement and improve our current data capabilities. Work with Data Engineering to integrate those sources into our existing systems.
6. Provide the broader team with general support for their daily activities, including producing reports, presentations and general preparation for meetings

Qualifications

1. 3+ years in analytics/data science within the tech industry
2. 3+ years of SQL experience (preferably Redshift)
3. 1+ year with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau)
4. Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related field preferred
5. Experience in small, generalist analytics/data science teams
6. Proficiency in data pre-processing
7. Ability to turn vague requests into clear, actionable reports
8. Portfolio showcasing data visualizations
9. Ability to explain decisions in report/chart creation (constraints, highlights, KPIs)
10. Familiarity with Python (Pandas, Matplotlib, SQLAlchemy) and Jira
11. Strong communication and presentation skills
12. Detail-oriented and process-driven
13. Ability to quickly learn industry-specific metrics
14. Interest in finance and cryptocurrency
15. Enthusiastic about leveraging data science practices to the organization is a plus
