Job Description
Summary
You will work across Block's Global Communications team to design and deliver high-impact, programming and experiences focused on our narratives and Block's strategic priorities. You will be part of the Global Communications team, whose mission is to inform, engage, and align key audiences, both internally and externally, with the Block's purpose and strategic priorities to help drive business outcomes. You will establish a rhythm of multi-dimensional content to be delivered across a variety of channels, to both internal and external audiences. You will use AI to reimagine how this content is curated, produced, and delivered to make the greatest impact.
Reporting to the Head of Global Internal Communications, you will work with executives and teams across Block, including within our brands (Square, Cash App, Afterpay, and TIDAL), public relations, investor relations, legal, product, government relations, HR, marketing, and more. We are looking for creativity, excellent program/event management and organizational skills, and the ability to change course quickly, especially in fast-paced settings.
You Will
- Design, plan, and produce all programming tied to our strategic priorities to be delivered across multiple media and channels, to internal and external audiences, such as our company all hands, functional events, product demos, short-form videos, and more.
- Imagine and deliver new and innovative ways to tell stories that align to Global Communications strategy and narratives.
- Drive the tactical execution of all internal communications that support Block's strategic priorities.
- Support product launches, milestone activations, major marketing moments, and brand updates with internal and external activations (requires close cross-functional partnership and program management).
- Support Block's participation in and internal activation around major industry events.
- Leverage existing AI automations and build new ones to deliver higher quality communications more efficiently for the team.
- Create measurement mechanisms for internal comms programming; track insights and sentiment over time, with recommendations on how we can continuously improve.
You Have
- 5+ years of experience in communications, program management, operations, or event planning.
- Experience managing and executing complex programs from concept to delivery, with a strong attention to detail and organizational excellence.
- Experience developing and producing communications content across a variety of channels and formats—live events, internal messaging, digital platforms, and executive-level materials.
- Expertise working with senior executives and cross-functional teams, including legal, PR, marketing, and product.
- Experience building and using measurement frameworks to assess communications effectiveness and improve content and programs.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI tools and automation platforms to streamline communications workflows and enhance delivery quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for broad audiences.
- A belief in Block's purpose of economic empowerment.
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
