Summary
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Director to lead our newly formed Business Analytics team. Reporting to our Business Operations Lead, this executive role sits at the intersection of organizational leadership, business strategy, and technical excellence. You will build and scale the analytics team while serving as a key strategic advisor to executive leadership, ensuring our analytics capabilities drive competitive advantage and business growth across Square, Cash App, and broader Block initiatives. Working directly with C-suite executives, you'll be responsible for developing organizational analytics capabilities, establishing enterprise-wide standards, and supporting data-driven transformation across the company.
You Will
- Lead Block's analytics transformation, developing the roadmap for next-generation, AI-enabled capabilities and organizational change
- Analyze business performance across Square and Cash App, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks to inform key decisions
- Leverage AI and automation to improve analytical capabilities, scale insights, and enhance efficiency in data-driven decision-making
- Create clear, compelling data narratives, translating complex findings into actionable recommendations for senior leaders
- Develop and optimize dashboards, reports, and predictive models to enable real-time insights and strategic forecasting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in Finance, Product, Business Operations, and Strategy to ensure analytics drive meaningful impact
- Support special projects that require a combination of business acumen, data analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, machine learning, and data analytics, identifying opportunities to implement cutting-edge solutions
You Have
- 12+ years of experience in business analytics, strategy, or data science, with 5+ years of people management experience leading teams
- Demonstrated success building and scaling analytics organizations of 10+ people across multiple functions
- Deep knowledge of our business model—including understanding of product mechanics, business models, and key success drivers
- Strong technical foundation with broad understanding of modern analytics, data science, and AI/ML technologies
- A passion for leveraging AI in analytics—whether through automation, machine learning, or predictive modeling
- The ability to turn data into a story, communicating insights effectively to executives and cross-functional stakeholders
- A bias for action—proactively identifying and solving problems rather than waiting for requests
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments where adaptability and execution are critical
- A curious, innovative mindset, constantly seeking new ways to drive impact through data and AI

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
