Summary

The Blockchain support engineer is a technically advanced position that handles complex tooling and integration with multiple services. Individuals are expected to  have  prior experience working with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Possessing strong critical thinking and investigative skills. The position requires the ability to perform in high pressure situations with the Poloniex team.

Responsibilities 

  • Investigate technical issues and communicate solutions to customers as it relates to cryptocurrency transactions, balance discrepancies, APIs, and complex financial products. 
  • Monitor wallet infrastructure in order to identify and escalate transaction issues to Engineering
  • Work with Engineering to investigate and resolve customer issues as it relates to cryptocurrency transactions
  • Solve balance discrepancies through account audits and locating unaccounted funds
  • Develop and troubleshoot with 3rd party blockchain integrated technology and platforms
  • Use SQL to search database schemas as it relates to customer accounts and cryptocurrency transactions
  • Investigate and handle issues related to deposits, withdrawals, and transactions

Required Skills

  • An understanding of multiple crypto currency chains so transactions can be reviewed, investigated, and acted on  
  • The ability to understand an internal database and write complex SQL queries in order to identify customers impacted by various product issues 
  • Create tools to enforce and validate decisions regarding transactions for multiple cryptocurrencies
  • Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, PHP (nice to have), GO lang (nice to have)
  • General understanding of technical tools such as APIs, Datadog, Splunk, Github, and Zendesk
  • Be an early adopter and have the ability to pick up new technology quickly
  • Critical thinking and strong attention to detail, as this role depends highly on accuracy and understanding of complex concepts
  • Open to a progressive environment with marketing incentives, products and features that are continuously launching and updating

Optional Skills

  • Prior experience in a customer facing role in the financial industry
  • Fluent reading and writing in English and Chinese, to ensure proper communication to customers and internal partners Globally
