Summary

Algorand Foundation is looking for a Blockchain Developer to join our engineering team in India. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining blockchain-based systems, smart contracts, and protocol-level components that support both internal initiatives and the broader ecosystem.

You will work closely with protocol engineers, full-stack developers, and ecosystem partners to deliver secure, scalable Web3 solutions. Applicants are encouraged to share GitHub profiles and relevant blockchain projects as part of their application.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Design, develop, and maintain smart contracts, blockchain applications, and protocol-level components
2. Build secure and scalable solutions leveraging Algorand blockchain
3. Implement and maintain testing frameworks for smart contracts and blockchain integrations
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, ecosystem, product) to deliver end-to-end Web3 solutions
5. Debug, optimize, and maintain blockchain systems in production environments
6. Contribute to open-source initiatives and ecosystem tooling where applicable
7. Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

1. 4+ years of software engineering experience, with strong exposure to blockchain development
2. Hands-on experience with smart contract development (Python, Typescript)
3. Understanding of blockchain fundamentals: consensus, cryptography, transaction models, and state management
4. Strong team collaboration and communication
5. Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
7. Strong understanding of Git

GOOD TO HAVE 

1. Direct experience building on Algorand
2. Familiarity with DeFi, NFTs, token standards, or decentralized identity
3. Knowledge of distributed systems and cryptographic primitives
4. Experience with Web3 tooling, wallets, and indexing solutions
5. Open-source contributions in blockchain or Web3 ecosystems
