About the Team

The Network & Payments team is a core part of Fireblocks' infrastructure, responsible for developing and maintaining the Fireblocks Network — the foundation that enables secure and efficient value transfer between users and services across our platform. Everything related to payments, network transactions, and system integrity depends directly on the work of this team.

We operate in small, autonomous squads with high ownership and decision-making power. The focus is on building reliable, high-performance systems that meet the demands of complex environments where stability, security, and trust are critical.

In this role, you’ll join the Network Applications team, a group of five engineers based in Belgrade, working as part of the broader Network & Payments unit.

What You’ll Do

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll work closely with Product and Design to build new features and infrastructure for the Fireblocks Network. Your day-to-day will involve:

1. Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services in a secure, cloud-native environment.
2. Building scalable systems that support financial transactions and secure communication across the Fireblocks Network.
3. Collaborating with engineers across the stack, participating in code reviews, and following engineering best practices.
4. Writing automated tests and contributing to our continuous integration and deployment workflows.
5. Participating in technical discussions and helping shape system design and team standards.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Have:

1. 4–6+ years of hands-on web development experience, with a focus on backend or full-stack development
2. Experience with Node.js and TypeScript is a strong advantage — we’re also open to candidates with backgrounds in Java, C#, or C++ who are looking to transition into this stack.
3. Familiarity with Agile development practices, including CI/CD workflows.
4. A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Nice-to-Have:

1. Awareness of or light experience with React and frontend development
2. Experience in security-sensitive environments or financial systems
