About the role

We are looking for backend Node.js developers with production applications experience to work with our API Platform team. This team builds the backend APIs for use across all MetaMask platforms, both directly by MetaMask clients as well as other backend APIs that power the product experiences within MetaMask. API Platform services include a Price API, Token API, Account API, NFT API, and more.

Required Skills:

1. 3+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer working on production applications
2. Experience with Node.js back-end development (preferably Typescript)
3. Experience with, or understanding of: PostgreSQL
4. Experience working on agile projects in an Agile environment
5. Experience working in CI/CD setup
6. Experience working in a distributed, remote team environment.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Writing good technical documentation.

Bonus Points for any of:

1. Experience as a Team Lead or Tech Lead or leading features
2. Experience working with third party vendors, in particular financial institutions, neobanks, and web3 companies
3. BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related subject
4. Experience in Typescript
5. Experience with microservices architectures
6. Understanding of blockchain technology, especially Ethereum
7. Blockchain / smart contract development: Solidity / Ethereum, Web3.js or Ethers.js library
8. General interest in DevOps topics / experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes and deploying cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure)
9. Experience in deploying blockchain infrastructure
10. Working knowledge of Observability stacks Prometheus, Grafana

The salary range for US-based candidates only will be determined throughout the interview process depending on experience and skills.

US pay range (not including bonus, equity or other benefits)

$155,000—$186,000 USD
