Summary

As an Alpha Researcher / Execution Trader, you will be responsible for managing live portfolio risk and executing trades during

APAC trading hours, operating at the core of GSR’s global trading operation. You will ensure disciplined execution, robust operational processes, and close coordination with the broader trading team.

Alongside execution, you will develop a strong understanding of GSR’s existing strategies and research pipeline, contributing to the design and deployment of new semi-systematic and discretionary trading strategies. This role is ideal for an experienced trader who combines strong market intuition with analytical depth and a passion for crypto markets.

Responsibilities

1. Manage intraday and overnight portfolio risk during APAC hours, monitoring positions, exposures, and market conditions, and escalating issues when required.
3. Execute trades within defined strategy parameters, ensuring best execution, disciplined order management, and close coordination with the global trading team.
5. Maintain high operational standards across execution workflows, including reconciliations, trade checks, and strategy rebalances.
7. Develop strong market intuition and judgement, staying informed on market news, flows, and structural changes impacting strategy performance.
9. Build a deep understanding of GSR’s existing research pipeline and deployed trading strategies.
11. Collaborate with the team to design, test, and deploy new semi-systematic and discretionary strategies.

Your Profile

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative or technical discipline.
3. Strong analytical and statistical foundation, with the ability to reason clearly about risk and performance.
5. 2+ years of programming experience applied to data analysis, research, or backtesting.
7. 4+ years of trading experience across any asset class, with a solid understanding of derivatives, risk management, and market microstructure.
9. Strong market judgement and the ability to perform in fast-moving, 24/7 markets.
11. Crypto trading experience is preferred, but not required.
