Job Description
Summary
This role will require being full-time onsite at our Toronto office to support collaborative team dynamics and innovative problem-solving.
BitGo is looking for a Software Engineer who will join our team.
About This Role
We’re building a team to explore and deliver high-leverage AI automation for engineering, support, and operations. The AI Enablement team partners with internal users across the company to identify pain, build fast, and deploy practical copilots, integrations, and workflows that unlock new ceilings on speed and quality. If you're curious, outcome-oriented, and believe in empowering humans with smart tools, this is your team.
Even if you don’t meet every qualification listed below, we encourage you to apply. We value curiosity, adaptability, and systems thinking. If you’re excited about putting AI to work across the enterprise in deeply practical ways, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders across engineering, support, and operations to identify workflows that could benefit from applied AI, and prototype fast, durable solutions grounded in real-world constraints.
- Design, deploy, and maintain internal AI systems that improve speed, accuracy, and clarity across teams.
- Track effectiveness of deployed AI systems through user feedback and metrics.
- Prototype and productionize agentic workflows and copilots that accelerate decision-making, reduce toil, and improve service quality.
- Own the full lifecycle of internal AI tools – from exploration to rollout to iteration – prioritizing safety, observability, and long-term maintainability.
- Establish and evolve best practices for AI safety, context engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and integration with existing systems and APIs.
- Help shape BitGo's internal strategy for AI adoption, establishing frameworks for evaluating, prioritizing, and scaling successful solutions.
Required:
- Experience building human-in-the-loop systems, LLM-powered agents, or AI copilots in a production environment.
- Familiarity with the practical application of AI/ML techniques, including context engineering, embeddings, vector stores, and LLM APIs.
- Ability to reason rigorously about trade-offs, system constraints, and long-term maintainability of AI-infused systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with cross-functional or non-technical partners.
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong product and systems mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience in observability, operational excellence, or developer experience roles.
- Demonstrated experience delivering internal-facing tools, automation, or infrastructure that improved developer or operator workflows.
- Familiarity with knowledge management systems (e.g., Confluence, Google Drive, Q&A bots).
- Interest in the long-term strategy of AI adoption, internal evangelism, and change management.
- Passionate about applied AI, especially where it improves the quality, speed, and satisfaction of human work.
