As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Chase Travel team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

  1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  2. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  3. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining full stack applications in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages
  4. Experience in Microsoft .NET/.NET Core framework and C# coding
  5. Experience in JavaScript, Typescript, Angular and Nodejs
  6. Experience in developing and maintaining microservices-based applications using cloud services
  7. Experience in object-oriented design skills and familiarity with advanced design patterns and practices
  8. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  9. Experience in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  10. Experience in developing software that integrates with third-party, external providers using REST, SOAP, XML
  11. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. AWS Developer Certification preferred
  2. Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Elastic Cache, Redis or other cloud-native services
  3. Familiarity with modern front-end libraries/systems lerna, lit components, nodejs, SASS/LESS, rxjs
  4. ADA compliance experience
