Summary

This role will require being full-time onsite at our San Francisco office to support collaborative team dynamics and innovative problem-solving.

BitGo is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Go Accounts (Custody) organization and help us build resilient, robust services that enable customers to securely store and access their cryptocurrency while meeting compliance requirements around the world.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and build scalable, well abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services to empower our API-first platform
2. Own functionality and scalability features by taking responsibility from inception to deployment and customer integration
3. Expose and document functionality to the UI, third-party developers, and our internal and external tooling
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
5. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
6. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
7. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
8. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
9. Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
10. Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand and refine product requirements
11. Provide mentorship to your peers in the broader engineering team through code reviews and education on best practices

Required

1. Experience and a strong interest in fintech, cryptocurrency, or blockchain technology
2. Enthusiasm for exploring and integrating AI-powered coding assistants and tools.
3. At least 6 years of proven experience in back-end and server-side development
4. Great at algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
5. Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
6. Strong experience with RESTful API design
7. Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
8. Experience with event-driven architectures
9. Experience with unit and functional testing and debugging
10. Ability to move quickly and adjust course as needed in a fast-paced environment
11. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline from a top university

Preferred

1. Familiarity with ledgering system concepts or their application in traditional FinTech or banking environments.
2. Experience developing consumer-facing crypto products
3. Proven experience building public-facing APIs in a production environment
4. Ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React
5. Familiarity with any of the following: digital wallets, DeFi protocols, smart contracts, token standards.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $180,000 - $210,000 USD base salary. Equity, an annual performance bonus and the benefits outlined below are also a part of this role's package.
