Summary
DEPARTMENT/ TEAM PURPOSE:
Copper Markets Finance function plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic direction of the business. The team oversees all core finance disciplines — including Financial Operations, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Revenue Operations, and Procurement — and partners closely with Human Resources to support Copper Markets (Switzerland) AG (CMCH). Together, these functions ensure adherence to Swiss legal, tax, and regulatory requirements, while enabling effective decision-making through robust financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis
ROLE PURPOSE:
As interim Finance Director for our Swiss operations, you will serve as a strategic leader across both Finance and People functions, ensuring robust financial governance and insightful decision support. Operating within a complex and evolving regulatory environment, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and HR-related matters. You will act as a critical bridge between local operations and group-level Finance and People teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Finance Leadership: Responsible for overseeing both Finance and supporting Human Resource functions in Copper Markets (Switzerland) AG (CMCH).
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure adherence to all tax, legal, and regulatory requirements for both Finance and Human Resource functions in CMCH.
- BOD Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present management information, including forecasting, revenue, debtors, and financial modelling to support strategic planning.
- Account Management: Oversee the maintenance of accounts for CMCH, including the preparation of the accounts for reporting purposes.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective internal control system.
- Audit Leadership: Lead financial audits in collaboration with the appointed audit firm.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across the business.
- Business-Wide Partnership: Collaborate with all departments and teams within the holding company, including Legal, Finance, HR, Marketing, IT, Operations, and Sales.
- Group Collaboration: Work with the holding company and other group entities on broader finance tasks.
- Market Awareness: Stay updated on market trends relevant to the business and industry, ensuring the company maintains a competitive edge.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Qualified Accountant.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of tax, legal, and regulatory requirements for finance and HR functions.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Experience leading financial audits and maintaining internal control systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and stay updated on market trends.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various departments and teams within a group company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
