Summary

Responsibilities

  1. Lead all financial operations for Flipster FZE, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and UAE regulatory requirements.
  2. Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, advising on capital planning, investment decisions, cost control, and financial risk mitigation.
  3. Design and operationalize a fit-for-purpose finance control framework, including internal controls, audit readiness, tax compliance (VAT, ESR, Corporate Tax), and capital adequacy planning.
  4. Own the regulatory reporting calendar—ensuring timely, accurate submissions to VARA and other UAE authorities, including financial statements, audit packages, and capital adequacy ratio reports.
  5. Manage all financial reconciliations related to client assets, including segregated funds, digital asset balances, and transactional flow between wallets, custodians, and ledgers.
  6. Oversee liquidity and treasury management, including fiat and crypto positions, on/off-ramp infrastructure, stablecoin flows, and custody solutions.
  7. Establish and maintain robust relationships with banks, payment service providers (PSPs), crypto custodians, and financial institutions.
  8. Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax consultants, and financial advisors.
  9. Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Operations to embed financial controls into business processes, product launches, and risk mitigation strategies.
  10. Design and scale finance systems and reporting processes to support a rapidly growing, multi-jurisdictional business.
  11. Build and manage a high-performing finance team aligned with local and group-level needs.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA) is required.
  3. Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in crypto, fintech, or regulated financial institutions.
  4. Deep understanding of IFRS, UAE financial regulations, and regulatory reporting requirements (VARA, MOF).
  5. Proven track record in setting up finance functions from scratch, including policies, systems, audits, and compliance protocols.
  6. Strong experience in financial reconciliations, especially relating to digital asset custody and transactional flow.
  7. Familiarity with crypto-native finance operations, including treasury tools, blockchain-based reporting, and asset segregation best practices.
  8. Effective communicator with strong leadership skills and stakeholder engagement experience.

Preferred

  1. Experience dealing with regulators such as VARA, FSRA, or DFSA.
  2. Knowledge of capital adequacy frameworks in regulated virtual asset environments.
  3. Background in high-growth tech or startup ecosystems.
