Robinhood Derivatives (RHD) is Robinhood’s newly formed entity that focuses on futures, event contracts, and options on futures. Our operations and trading team will help coordinate and lead business operations and internal functions for this entity to ensure a successful setup, launch, and opportunity to scale.
As the Futures Operations Specialist, you will perform essential daily duties to keep our futures and event contract business running smoothly, including clearing and settlement of futures, futures options, and event contract trades, analyzing trade and position reconciliations, resolving various futures and event contract trading issues, and reviewing several regulatory reports to ensure proper compliance. The role will work on initial setup of futures and event contract operational processes, tools, documentation, and workflows. Additionally, you’ll be working with various third party clearing firms, exchanges and vendors to maintain a proper working relationship and will be working closely with vital internal teams including CX, Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Financial Crimes, Finance, and Customer Trust and Safety to meet customer needs and expectations.
This role is based in our Chicago, IL office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
- Review daily trade, position, and cash reconciliations
- Processing of trade corrections, cash discrepancies, and position breaks
- Research, prioritize, and resolve futures and event contract related customer escalations
- Keep detailed records in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Ensure adherence to firm procedures and industry regulations
- Coordinate with product and engineering partners to translate business and regulatory requirements to enhance futures operational processes
- Act as a key partner with Compliance and cross functional teams to document and maintain processes and WSPs
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve processes for scale that help RHD Operations team meet its goals more efficiently and effectively
- Work with cross functional teams to collect, prioritize and communicate product-related challenges to be considered for future development
What you bring
- A demonstrated history of operational excellence and problem solving
- 4+ years of experience in Brokerage Operations, Financial Services, or related field
- Strong understanding of futures market, event contracts and back office clearing
- Exceptional leadership, communication, time management, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in Excel, with the ability to leverage advanced functions for data analysis and decision-making. Familiarity with SQL is highly desirable.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills to work with colleagues across the company to quickly resolve issues and develop long term strategies for growth
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple daily tasks and projects with various deadlines
- Active Series 3 or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to pass NFA Swaps Proficiency Exam within 90 days
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$102,000 - $120,000 USD
Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)
$90,000 - $106,000 USD
Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)
$80,000 - $94,000 USD
