Job Description
Summary
The Lending & Commerce design team is focused on building financial products that help customers access credit and flexible payment options, while also helping merchants grow their business.
You'll work on 2 main areas across Afterpay and consumer lending at Cash App:
- Regulations and compliance
- Merchant partnerships
You'll bring clarity and craft to production-heavy design work — ensuring our experiences are compliant, clear and reliable and our design documentation is up to date. You'll also directly enable high-value partnerships which are fundamental to our business growth. This is a unique role that has direct high GPV impact through growing our business, alongside the crucial work to keep us in business, by remaining up to date with ever-changing regulations.
This role is remote, with a preference for West Coast hours to better overlap with our team in Australia.
You Will
- Create high-quality, high-volume production heavy design work — shipping clean, precise UI across Cash App's lending and Afterpay products..
- Translate complex requirements and regulatory guidelines into clear product experiences — quality under constraint.
- Be able to move fast as legal requirements and regulations change, to keep the business and our customers safe.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, compliance, sales and legal teams to bring designs to life within tight constraints.
- Support merchant partnerships by scaling existing solutions across new use cases, surfaces, and geographies.
You Have
- 5+ years of experience designing digital products with a emphasis on execution and production work.
- A portfolio that shows care for craft, consistency, and systems thinking — even within highly prescriptive environments.
- A pragmatic mindset — you enjoy making things real and solving for edge cases.
- Interest and satisfaction in scaling design solutions for different partners.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality UI at scale.
- Strong visual design skills and attention to detail.
Even better:
- Experience working in highly regulated industries with compliance/legal teams.
- Experience working in partnerships, adjusting design solutions for a large range of partners.
- Familiarity with financial services, lending products, or merchant platforms.
